Inci Deniz Ilgin is an artist, designer, and academic whose work explores the intersection of identity, memory, and place. She holds an Interdisciplinary Doctoral Degree from Washington State University, where her dissertation examined the socio-cultural transformations in Istanbul's public spaces after the 1980s. Ilgin has taught at the University of Cincinnati, Washington State University, and Marmara University, and co-led an interactive online-course+workshop for ten years between California College of the Arts and Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts. Her art and design works have been exhibited on national and international platforms. In addition to her creative work and teaching, Ilgin has organized and curated exhibitions, triennials, workshops, conferences, and research projects. From 2012 to 2019, she served as Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. She is currently leading Tatbiki Bellek, a documentary project exploring the impact of an Applied Fine Arts school in Istanbul, founded on Bauhaus principles, which operated for just 25 years until becoming part of Marmara University.
